Interests

Internet routing and security, distributed machine learning, privacy-preserving data analytics.

Research

Lixin Gao's research includes Internet routing and security, scalable algorithms and distributed frameworks for machine learning, and data analytics on massive graphs. She has investigated privacy-preserving data analytics on complex networks, including settings where network structure can leak private information.

Biography

Lixin Gao is a Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UMass Amherst. She received her Ph.D. from UMass Amherst and a B.S. from the University of Science and Technology of China. She is a Fellow of the IEEE and the ACM.
