The Cybersecurity Competition Team of UMass

We are a group of students who are passionate about cybersecurity. Not just from sitting in lectures -- cybersecurity is about rolling up your sleeves and hacking through thickets of bad code, poor infrastructure, and malicious attackers.

Since Fall of 2016, the Pentest Club has been active in various defensive and offensive competitions. We competed in our first Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition event in March 2017 and have every year since. We've also honed our skills with CTFs, such as those hosted by MITRE, Facebook, and Akamai.

We hope to keep expanding our community, including growing our CCDC team. At UMass Pentest Club, we practice cybersecurity by providing a safe outlet for people to get hands-on experience.

We work with the Cyberscurity Club to coordinate events.

Our Mission

UMass Pentest Club has two main objectives. First, teach students about the defensive and offensive techniques used in industry and how to apply those techniques responsibly. Second, Umass Pentest Club recruits and trains the UMass National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (CCDC) team. By following these two objectives, we learn how to work through challenges in the field of cybersecurity and will be ready to work in the industry.
